How We Do Our Work:
Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR): a "collaborative and equitable approach to research that begins with a topic of importance to the community, has the aim of combining knowledge with action and achieving social change to improve health outcomes and eliminate health disparities." (adapted from WK Kellogg Foundation). RIPHI follows the model of the Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH)—national, nonprofit organization that promotes health through partnerships and community-based participatory research between communities and higher educational institutions.
