Job description:  Field Project Coordinator

Hours:
Variable, not to exceed 20 hours/week
Limited Duration or Student Employment, June, July, August, 2008             

Rate:
$11 per hour

General:
Under general supervision, implement a community environmental/health risk assessment working with community-based partners (e.g. John Hope Settlement House, CHisPA, and others as may be designated).  This is a project of the RI Public Health Institute to be conducted in South Providence.

Specific tasks:

  1. Work with community-based organizations to recruit field workers from the community and from among students
  2. Schedule training sessions for all field workers and participate in the training
  3. Schedule and coordinate two-person teams of field workers to complete environmental/health-risk assessments in accordance with the sampling frame for the assessment
    1. Supervise the conduct of assessments by teams of field workers
    2. Validate a sub-sample of  assessments
    3. Collect data sheets from teams daily
    4. Assure level of productivity, accuracy and reliability
  4. Enter and verify community assessment field data into a database/analytical program as designated by the project director.

Participate in data analysis and other activities as may be assigned from time to time.
