Who We Are:

The Rhode Island Public Health Institute (formerly the RI Public Health Foundation) was founded by RI State law in 1993 and partners with state and communities agencies and academic institutions to promote health and wellness for Rhode Islanders.
 

What We Do:

  • Build capacity to assess local health and environmental status
  • Conduct local public health and environmental assessments
  • Establish partnerships between communities and academic institutions to support local public health improvement
  • Foster and assist community projects to improve health and make environments healthier
  • Assist community health programs with
    evaluation and quality improvement
  • Seek partnership-based funding for community projects
